The Most Popular Lipstick Colours Around The World: Are You More Of A London Nude Or A New York Red?

Can you guess where in the world someone lives based on what lipstick shade they're wearing?

Possibly, thanks to this new beauty infographic, which reveals the most en vogue shades around the globe.

The infographic was created using data from a new study, commissioned by Heathrow, that looked at the most popular lipsticks bought by people in different cities around the world.

The top lipstick shade trending in 50 cities was discovered by analysing global lipstick sales data and gathering insights from Heathrow’s beauty team.

From London’s barely there caramel nude as worn by Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne, to New York’s bold, bright red as seen on Gwen Stefani and Olivia Palermo, check out the results of the first Heathrow International Lipsticks Colours of the Year report below:

Following the study, Heathrow are running a month of lipstick celebrations with a range of micro-sculptures by artist Hedley Wiggan.

These miniature lipstick landmarks were created with nothing more than a magnifying glass, carving knife and remarkably steady hands, and can be kept as collector’s pieces or used as regular lipsticks.

The carvings were created using the most popular lipstick shades from the survey and are based on London’s Big Ben, and landmarks in four of the most popular destinations visited from Heathrow: Paris’s Eiffel Tower, Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, Shanghai’s eponymous Tower and New York’s Statue of Liberty.

The hand-carved landmark lipsticks and a towering two-storey-high replica of the Statue of Liberty will be on display at Terminal 5 for the next month as part of the International Lipstick Colours of the Year showcase. Gwyneth Paltrow is a mystery. A riddle inside an enigma. Just how does the 42-year-old actress defy all laws of time and gravity without breaking an oxygen-infused sweat?

Gwynnie's blog Goop may be best-known for macrobiotic musings, impossible month-long juice cleanses and jumpers that cost as much as your rent, but she'll soon be using it to bestow upon us mere mortals the key to her (seemingly exclusive) fountain of youth...

Goop are launching their very own skincare brand! So now we can all look as good as Ms Paltrow without doing Bikram yoga high on chia seeds or steam-cleaning our vaginas (yes, seriously).

The company’s CEO Lisa Gersh confirmed during a talk at the Fashion Tech Forum last week that Goop will be launching a line of beauty products next January.

From the sound of things, Gersh will be taking cues from Into The Gloss’s (ITG) business model for beauty expansion, citing them as one of the most successful e-commerce sites to watch.

Just like ITG’s year-old beauty line, Glossier, Goop’s products will operate on a direct-to-consumer program, meaning they’ve cut out the middle man and are handling all retail aspects in-house.

Little is known about the range so far, but you can bet it's going to be sustainable, all-organic and something we're probably going to want to consciously couple up with.

Like some kind of miraculous answer to our prayers, Prada has decided to release lower-priced handbags.

The only downside to this brilliant news? It's because the brand's profits are falling, with a loss of over 40% in net income since the end of the first quarter.

According to Bloomberg, the iconic Italian fashion house will try to combat tumbling profits by introducing cheaper products, opening fewer stores and closing some wholesale accounts.

In a statement, Prada S.p.A. CEO Patrizio Bertelli said: "Results for the quarter have been conditioned by the continuing difficult market conditions in the Asia Pacific area, especially in Hong Kong and Macau.”

While it's not exactly the good news for the luxury brand, they're hoping these chances will help them "achieve return at the levels of profitability enjoyed until the recent past."

In the meantime, we'll be making the most of their more purse-friendly prices. The new Prada bags, which don't yet have a release date, will cost around €1,000 to €1,200 (or approximately £725 to £870).

"Be Bold. Be Unexpected. Be You" is the slogan used by a beauty campaign promoting self-expression.

The self-love movement by Makeup Forever is using the social media hashtag #BeMAKEUPFOREVER to launch it's new profiles of the brand.

Andreja Pejic is one of the faces of the campaign and her involvement marks the first time a transgender model has ever starred in a major cosmetics campaign.

ModaMob's video team asked Pejic about the campaign and she said:

“Being bold is about freedom. It’s hard for anyone to grow up and not be afraid of what others think."

"Makeup helps me express myself, and I’ve used it in varying ways throughout my life. I have strived to live life on my own terms, to never have to hide and to never have to feel shame about who I am."

"I can be proud of that, and I’m equally proud to share that message through this campaign.”

The model has previously cat-walked as both male and female identities and is starring alongside actress Jamie Chung in the campaign.

This self-love campaign will officially launch, alongside Makeup Forever, at Sephora stores on July 16th.





Pejic, came out as transgender in July 2014 and has made waves in the fashion industry with her androgynous look. She has featured on the covers of both Elle and French Vogue.

She added: "To all trans youth out there, I would like to say respect yourself and be proud of who you are. All human beings deserve equal treatment no matter their gender identity or sexuality. To be perceived as what you say you are is a basic human right."

Wheelchair Fashions By Student Lucy Jones To Go On Show In Saks Fifth Avenue

A 23-year-old student has won a prestigious award for her fashion collection for wheelchair users.

Welsh-born Lucy Jones's Womenswear Designer of the Year of Class 2015 creations will be displayed in the window of Saks, Fifth Avenue in New York.

Jones' designs were inspired by her cousin Jake who has a condition called hemiplegia, which causes paralysis in half of his body.

Jones, who attended Glamorgan University, was inspired to create an easy-to-wear collection after hearing about the daily struggle he goes through simply to put on his own clothes.

Jones told the BBC: "I realised that we, in the fashion industry, need to create more accessible solutions in clothing,"

"I thought if Jake could dress himself, he would be able to be more independent. Clothes have the power to do that."

When making the designs Jones had to consider different elements to fit the unique needs of a wheelchair user.

This included reinforcing the elbow fabric to elevate the wear of armchair resting and changing the design of the knee caps to allow for them to change shape when bent.

She also won a $2,500 grant from the New York Parsons School of Design and jointly won the Parsons and Kerings Empowering Imagination contest for her efforts.

According to the BBC she is the first Welsh design student to attend Parsons School of Design.

She said: "I am thrilled to be named Designer of the Year. Having this accolade from a leading world-wide design school is amazing and I am hoping this will help further my career in design - I can't wait to see what the future holds"

Keira Knightley's ultra-feminine maternity style never failed to wow on the red carpet - whether in a flowing, layered dress or a fairytale inspired gown, her unique boho look translated to pregnancy perfection.

Now, her long-time friend and stylist for the past eight-years has revealed Knightley's fashion secrets.

At the launch of her new collaboration with designer Orla Kiley, stylist Leith Clark spoke to Fashionista about her relationship with Knightley, who she's worked with since her starring role in Atonement.

"We were friends beforehand and to me she didn’t look like herself when she did appearances, so it was finding a way to make it feel real — so that when she promotes something she doesn’t also feel like she’s acting as much," Clark said.

"I think when I met her she was always excited for the end [of the night], to take it off. I thought my job is good if she doesn’t want to take it off."

Clark is also the brains behind the actress' gorgeous red carpet maternity outfits and made sure the star felt as graceful and free as possible, rather than being constrained by uncomfortable clothes.

Knightley's pregnancy dresses weren't all custom couture either, the stylist revealed she often wore Orla Kiley dresses with the waistline moved up.

“If something’s fluid and loose and loves the bump it makes you feel more comfortable and more confident and more beautiful — she just really trusted me", Clark said.

"A lot of them, we didn’t even do fittings. I would literally go, 'this is the dress' and she’d say okay and we would make it work. She’s easy to make look great though, it’s nice to make her happy."

LA facialist Joanna Varga also spilled on Knightley's glowing skin secrets - eating greens with every meal and always using sunscreen (even when it's not blazing down).

The 30-year-old mother of one is also said to be a fan of Varga's Triple Crown facial, which helps reduce puffiness.

Health and Beauty Tips for Fresh Summer Feet

Sometimes you just have to love being a blogger, this day was one of them. I was invited, along with a select group of other female health and beauty bloggers, to learn all about a much neglected part of us ... our feet.

Now I know as business woman tottering around in heels and as an avid fitness fanatic that my poor feet go through the mill more than most but I never stopped to give them the TLC they deserved. I feel after what I learnt on this day I will do.

We were invited to attend Office shoes store in central London and kindly given a voucher to purchase a lovely pair of shoes each (there was a point to this, it wasn't just shoes for shoes sake). Now those of you who follow me on twitter will recall a couple of weeks ago I went over on my ankle while running, so at the event I was still restricted to flats. This meant even trying on heels was out. Being forced out of your comfort zone is always something I encourage and I have so many heels already, so I began scouting for flats. I am one of those people who goes out of my way not to be in with the most popular trends; I have never watched or read Harry Potter, I do not own a Mac and I have never worn Converse. However, now I live in London and travel on the tube a lot, the idea of some comfy shoes did appeal. Office had some really different styles to the ones I'd seen everyone else in so I went for these. I am actually really chuffed with them.

Shoes chosen we were then chauffeured to the Charlotte Street Hotel, a beautiful venue behind Oxford Street in central London. We were treated to an amazing three course meal.

Then on to the more serious reason about why we were gathered there. Our long suffering feet. The event was wonderfully hosted by Gina Akers and we learnt some staggering feet facts. A selection of the most shocking were;

• Flip flops are worse for feet than high feels
• The weight women apply to their feet over one day is equivalent to 100 tones
• One quarter of all bones in our bodies are in our feet
• On average we walk 115,000 miles in a life time, that's 4 times around the earth.

A realisation was dawning on me that although I pride myself in taking care of my body and indulging in all things health, I had been neglecting my poor feet. I simply hadn't ever given it much thought.

I have to confess to feeling a little bit smug at choosing one of the most sensible pairs of shoes in the room and part of me wonders whether my subconscious lawyer connected the dots that this would somehow be a good move as the essence of the day was foot health. I do have to reiterate a tip of theirs: Varying your shoe height between high, mid and a flat heel is the best for our feet.

The sponsor of the event was Odor-eaters Slim Soles. These are 'thin soft and discreet insoles specifically designed for women', if you didn't already know that. Its not something I have ever used before but you wouldn't even know they were in the shoe they are so thin. I know this is an issue many people suffer from so with an RRP of £4.00 a pair it seems an obvious choice.

The event was great, not only for the reasons above but I attended with a blogger friend of mine Mitra Wicks, she is launching a women's magazine for London soon (http://elatemagazine.com/) and she's a supporter of all things female. I also met some lovely female bloggers and actually got the opportunity to chat to them. I don't focus on my blogging as much as I should do as I am so busy with law, business and life but these are women who make a career out of blogging. Hats off to them, that's their business and they are doing what the love! It fits my 'women can have it all' ethos very well. Now for the bit that you can take away and hopefully learn from Top Tips for Super Summer Feet:

• Exfoliate- If you're luck enough to be on the beach this summer then take a chance to walk on the and barefoot. Sand is a brilliant exfoliate and wet sand is really cooling. Running barefoot on the sand is also great exercise. When not luck enough to be at the beach, at home use a foot scrub or exfoliant in the bath or shower.

• Move your feet- yes your actual feet, make gentle rotations of your ankle and flex point your toes to help avoid muscle fatigue. If your feet swell in the summer take the opportunity to elevate them when you can.

• Polish- Always separate toes when applying polish. When painting toes start with your little one and work your way in. If you cant keep your feet still use a wall to stead them. Try clipping a clothes peg tightly to the nail polish lid to give you a longer reach.

• Perfect- For last toe polish push back the cuticles first and file the free edge. To avoid ingrowing toenails always clip straight across. Imperfections will be far less noticeable if you opt for a glittery or shimmery shade.

• Massage- Massing your feet is great for easing aches and pains and relieving tension, apply cream to your feet then massage in and enjoy the overall sense of wellbeing.

We were also given a pair of Oder-eaters for the shoes and a cute manicure set. It included a pumice stone. Finally, one good habit I was already in. A tip I got off my mum actually. A quick rub over the bottom of your feet while in the bath leaves them feeling very smooth. Much better than expensive pedicure gadgets that I have bought over the years and the best bit is you can pick one up for as little as one pound. The baby blue nail polish in the set rally appealed as a fresh alternative summer look.

We were asked throughout the day if we liked our feet, I pondered a little but the answer (although I didn't say it out loud) was yes. It's a part of my body I don't have any issues with. Having said that I am not a massive feet fan in general but now my toes look prettier with the new polish, here's a pic of them too. Let's hope this isn't an overshare.

Overall a thoroughly pleasant day, I learnt something. That should always be a benchmark for a good day! I will add these tips to my general health regime and my feet will be getting regular TLC from now on as a thank you for all the amazing places they take me!

Rihanna showed us another way to work the denim dress yesterday, when she rocked up to the Dior AW15 show in Tokyo as their VIP guest of honour.

The dress was custom made for the singer by Dior creative director Raf Simons and featured a dramatic flared skirt with embellished detail.

Decked out in all-Dior Resort accessories, the Barbadian beauty also sported their new collection shoulder bag, cat-eye shade and lace-up boots.

RiRi's statement boots from the Dior Resort collection are making us weak at the knees! With corset-like lacing, contrasting colours and pointy, pointy toes - they're every footwear trend rolled into one.

The 27-year-old singer is the new darling of the French fashion house since starring in their stunning Secret Garden IV lookbook and ad campaign.

In March this year, she became Dior’s first-ever black spokeswoman. “It feels fantastic” she told MTV News.

“It is such a big deal for me, for my culture, for a lot of young girls of any color. I think to be acknowledged by Dior means a lot, as a woman, to feel beautiful—to feel elegant and timeless.”

Have you ever squeezed yourself into tightly fitted denim and wondered why you feel happy?

A survey by Qualtrics, a market research company, has concluded that skinny jeans actually have an effect on how content you are.

The results show that those who adopt a skinnier-leg look are actually more satisfied than their Boyfriend or Bootcut counterparts.

Despite the findings fashion designer Lauren Conrad has banned the word "skinny" from her range of jeans


So basically... if you're ready to be revitalised, the flares have got to go.

Those who adopt the skin-tight fashion are nine percent more likely to report higher levels of happiness and twelve percent more likely to describe themselves as extremely confident.

Other findings from the study found that those who squeeze their way into their skinny denim are more likely to sit in the aisle seat of a plane and twice as likely to live in a bigger city like New York or Los Angeles.

Despite this denim discovery, fashion designer Lauren Conrad has decided to officially remove the word skinny from her range of jeans.

Starting this month, she will be banning any body shaming terms from her website, and replacing them with words like ‘healthy’, ‘fit’, and ‘toned’, according to a new blog post.

Conrad has also decided to ban “thin” and “slim” to keep in line with her theme of getting into shape and promoting a healthy body image.

Makeup artist Hung Vanngo revealed the two-must have products behind Elsa Hosk's fresh-faced, glowing look for an upcoming shoot.

He named-checked CK One Color Cream Powder Blush Duo in Fun and Pure Color Lipstick in Doll Face - using the two soft pinks to create a cotton candy flush.

Hosk's smouldering, yet subtle, smokey eyes were finished with a hint of champagne shimmer in the inner corners - try it at home with Jouer Cream Eye Shadow Crayon in Rococo.




Hairstylist Harry Josh is the man behind the bombshell's glossy, beachy waves.

The hair guru recently spoke to Mane Addicts and shared this simple how-to guide on how to get wing-worthy hair:

1. Use John Frieda Luxurious Volume Building Mousse on wet hair root to tip.

2. Attach velcro rollers on the crown, then rough dry everywhere with fingers.

3. Then using a 1 inch curling iron, wrap 1 inch sections of hair horizontally around iron in same direction.

4. Finish with Serge Normant Dry Shampoo.




Beauty masters Josh and Vango perfected the hair and makeup on the most recent Victoria's Secret campaign shoot introducing the 10 official new angels, including Romee Strijd, Jac Jagaciak, Martha Hunt, Elsa Hosk and Lais Ribeiro (pictured above).

Inspired by dresses from the fashion designer's famous floral lines, Valli has brought his effortless elegance to this stunning collection of timeless lip products.

The range includes five lipsticks, priced at £17 each, and the Lena clear crystal glaze gloss with subtle multicoloured pearl, priced at £19.

The matte lipsticks include Bianca B (pale white pink), Tats (bright hot pink), Margherita (yellow bright peach), Charlotte (rich yellow-red) and Eugenie (dark cherry with blue undertone).

You may remember hearing about Kate Moss being chucked off an EasyJet flight from Turkey...

Well she's back in the spotlight again after she went on a night out with friend and grande dame of fashion Vivienne Westwood.

Moss was at LouLou's private members club in her first public appearance after the budget airline controversy.

The 41-year-old was pictured in good spirits and dancing with her fellow guests at the Another Man magazine party.

At one point game Moss, in an cropped-leather corset, was seen crawling around the floor.

The supermodel didn't appear concerned about the EasyJet incident, which culminated in her branding the pilot a "basic bitch", as she partied the night away at the executive club.

During the EasyJet flight complaints were made about the model after she reportedly started drinking from her own bottle of alcohol.

Without naming Moss, Bedfordshire Police responded to inquiries about the incident by confirming they were called to help staff with a passenger being disruptive on a flight.
